DeMarcus Ware Eager To Return To Cowboys During Free Agency

DeMarcus Ware spent the first 9 years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys after the team selected him 11th overall in the 2005 Draft out of Troy. After spending the last 3 years with the Denver Broncos, it appears Ware has set his sights on returning to Dallas in free agency. The news comes our way via Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram.

“Defensive end DeMarcus Ware is eyeing a return to the Dallas Cowboys to bookend his career, per a source.

Ware, who will be 35 next season, is a free agent after playing the past three seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he won a Super Bowl ring in 2015.

Going back to Denver is an option, but so is a return to the Cowboys where he spent the first nine years of his career.

His representatives might have some informal talks with the Cowboys during the NFL Scouting Combine this week.”

Ware is still a productive NFL player recording 11.5 sacks the past two seasons. Defensive line coach Rod Marinelli is a defensive line guru and figures to get the best out of any player thrown his way. Ware still owns a home in the Dallas area so the fit makes a ton of sense, especially for a Cowboys team that needs defensive line help.
Dallas has had known interest in bringing Ware back for quite some time. Jerry Jones has also said he is looking to add a ‘War Daddy’ this year.
