Joe Harris has been one of the best bargains in the NBA since the Nets claimed him during the 2015-2016 season after being waived by the Magic. Harris was originally drafted by Cavaliers but they gave up him rather quickly. Harris found a home with the Nets and became one of the most prolific shooters in the league. If it’s up to Harris, he would like to stay with the team that he found his groove with.

In a recent video interview with Ian Eagle, Harris talked about how he wants to stay with Brooklyn in an ideal world:

“In the ideal world, I’d play my whole career in Brooklyn. I came in with (Nets general manager) Sean (Marks), even the ownership. It’s just one of those things where you have a close connection with a lot of people that are within the organization. You kind of all came in together.”

“Now I’ve been here for four years and built unbelievable relationships with everybody that’s a part of the organization. It’s amazing just to see where we’ve gone from Year 1 to now. And I obviously want to be a part of that, and a part of it for a long time.”

Harris, 28, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agency this summer. In 4 years with the Nets, Harris has averaged 11.9 points per game while shooting 42.3% on three-pointers. He led the NBA in that mark last season shooting over 47 percent. Because of that, Harris will have a market. Will the Nets extend themselves to keep the sharpshooter? That remains to be seen.
