MLB The Show 20 Will Feature Full Minor League Rosters
MLB The Show just took a BIG step forward. For years and years, MLB was not permitted to have minor league players in the game. Something to do with licensing from the players association. Well, now that problem has been solved. For the first time ever, MLB The Show will feature full minor league rosters for every team. This is ground breaking stuff.
In the trailer, you are able to see the likes of Nate Pearson, Tim Tebow, Luis Robert, Wander Franco, and Casey Mize. In previous years, you had to try to download a community roster and most of the time it was never accurate. Now that MLB The Show is leaning into this, the minor leaguers in the game will be as accurate as ever. Coming up with accurate potential ratings? Who knows, but good luck. I can’t imagine that amount of work that goes into creating full minor league rosters.
The biggest feature (other than minor league rosters) coming to the game includes new throw indicators, better fielding animations, and a new first step system. I’m sure it will feel like the same old game but the emphasis this year appears to be locked into fielding upgrades. Time will tell how those play out.
For those who followed our franchise mode from last year, thank you. Sadly I didn’t finish the season. In terms of the game this year, I doubt that I will do another franchise mode for the upcoming year. 2021 is much more likely. Especially when the Red Sox reload and turn into real contenders again. Then, we’re talking. It’s a big commitment to go through a 162 game season. Especially when you know the Sox won’t be all in for 2020.
