The Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Eagles defensive tackle Bennie Logan to a 1-year deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported the story as he also adds that Dontari Poe is also likely headed elsewhere.
Logan had his best season in 2016 with the Eagles where he recorded 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Logan, a former 3rd round pick in 2013 of LSU has 5.5 sacks during his career. The Chiefs’ choice to sign Logan over Poe is likely a result of a lack of cap space in Kansas City. They had around $2 million to spend heading into free agency.
Given the questions about his back, Poe figures to take a one-year deal somewhere else. Poe is considering the Colts, Falcons, Dolphins, and Raiders thus far.
