The Milwaukee Bucks are probably the best team in the NBA to start the season. The Bucks are 27-4 to start the season but something still doesn’t feel quite right. The Bucks feel like the one man Giannis show. Maybe that’s enough. Still, it’s hard to not notice Malcolm Brogdon and the impact he could have had with this team.
The Pacers recently faced the Bucks and got their doors blown off. Still, it felt like a good time to check in with Brogdon. Here’s what he had to say about Milwaukee:
“A few weeks before free agency,” Brogdon said of when he considered leaving Milwaukee. “I had a pretty good inkling that things may not work out and things may not go in the direction that I thought they were going to go in, so I started to change my mindset and started to identify different teams and prepare myself.”
“I would’ve loved to play for this team, if they had wanted me,” he continued. “If they had valued me the way the Pacers value me. That’s all I gotta say.”
Big yikes. Milwaukee messed this one up. Milwaukee paid the wrong guy. Giving Eric Bledsoe $70 million is the money that should have went to Brogdon. Yes, The Bucks did get a pick from Indiana, but Brogdon continues to improve. Brogdon, 27, is averaging a career high 18.7 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.6 rebounds.
Malcolm Brogdon has made a positive impact on the Pacers. No, they’re not Milwaukee but they are very underrated. It’s actually crazy how good the Bucks are given how great the Bucks have played so far this year. Giannis misses him. If the Bucks fall short again this year, it’s hard to not look at the decision to keep Bledsoe instead of Brogdon. Then again, maybe it doesn’t matter because Giannis is that good.
