One of my favorite players in the NFL, Vontaze Burfict, has been suspended for the entire season. I’m not happy about it. Burfict got tossed from the game and suspended for the whole year for this hit on Jack Doyle.
Was it a clean hit? No, probably not. Was it a dirty hit? I can’t confirm or deny that. Neither can you. Hey, my guy Vontaze was just trying to make a play. You’re taught as a defender to finish the tackle. Burfict was just trying to finish the job. If there’s a sink full of dishes, do you just do half of them or do you go diving in there and finish all of them? Burfict doesn’t half ass tackles. We should appreciate a guy who’s willing to get down and dirty.
This is bullshit. This wasn’t even Burfict’s biggest hit.
Tell me this. How does Burfict get suspended for the whole year on the Doyle hit but gets a slap on the wrist for this one? I believe Burfict has a kind heart. He’s like the kid that is allergic to bees. Should we ban that kid and keep him locked inside or just let him carry an epipen? Let Burfict hit guys. Give him a fine. Tell him to do better next time. He’s trying his best.
Free Vontaze Burfict. He’s a good man with a kind heart. It’s getting impossible to play defense in the NFL. You can’t hit him low, you can’t hit him high. You have to hit him just right and hope the player on offense doesn’t move. Forget about tackling quarterbacks. Half the time the pretend like they’re running out of bounds and jog forward for a few yards or slide way too late. Then we make the defenders out to be the bad guys. Well, guess what. Linebackers are people too. If there was no defense, we wouldn’t have football. If you wanted an example of what that looks like, go watch the Big 12. It makes me want to stick a fork in my eyes.
Whatever happened to being scared about going over the middle? At the end of the day, it’s still football. Burfict is just trying his best so he can put food on the table. It’s outrageous that we can suspend such a great player like this. Especially when the punishment has never been consistent. I understand now. Kareem Hunt can punt a girl and get suspended 8 games. Vontaze Burfict gets suspended for the whole year for trying to finish the tackle. Shame on you NFL.
