FIFA Street was an experience unto itself, thanks to the ability to take the world’s biggest ball game back to basics, away from the crowds, and cast a focus on outworking your opponent with on-the-ball flair.
The last time we saw FIFA Street was the 2011/12 season, where the game had changed from an arcade gameplay system to more of a simulated street, five-a-side and futsal experience. Whichever way you preferred the game, the tone change made for an entirely unique and intriguing experience unmatched by anything else in the sports genre.
It’s not like EA haven’t shown an interest in their street-balling side of things, with the introduction Volta in FIFA 20 and FIFA 18 featuring street football as part of its Journey story mode. But a FIFA Street revival would be EA’s way of fully catering and embracing this end of the market and would pose a welcome change from their yearly football sim.
