2025 NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 4

Not going to lie; not an overly exciting Saturday on the couch. Outside of the Tennessee beatdown, which we will get to later, you really didn’t miss much if you had an inconvenient wedding to attend. Luckily for you, I will never attend a Fall wedding and I have the needed updates you’re looking for. Without further ado, here are your Week 4 notes from the 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report.

The slate for Week 4 includes Stanford vs. Syracuse, Illinois vs. Nebraska, NC State vs. Clemson, Florida vs. Mississippi State, USC vs. Michigan, Utah vs. Oklahoma State, Miami vs. South Florida, and Tennessee vs. Oklahoma.

Stanford

We’ll see if Elic Ayomanor even declares. He’s only a redshirt sophomore. Doesn’t really look that fast but have to point out this grab. If he’s making plays like this at a younger age, maybe we have something here. He also had the game winning reception setting up Stanford with the game winning kick. Seems like he can win those contested balls in college. Can he manage to do just that at the next level? He sort of looks like a slimmer Elijah Higgins to me.

6-foot-2, 210, and no chance he runs faster than 4.5 but finished the game with seven receptions for 87 yards and a score. I feel obligated to show you this catch.

Syracuse

I’ve tried to make this point and I hope it’s starting to make sense to you. Kyle McCord is way better than a castoff from Ohio State that everyone wants to pretend sucks. It’s not the case but I think we saw some flaws in this one. Just much better in the pocket. Tries to make throws off platform and it doesn’t look right. Struggles to set the feet and be an athlete. Created a bad straight front leg throw in the first quarter that sailed over everyone.

It was really a mixed bag. Showed some fight. His offensive line lost the battle up front. Scored a gutsy touchdown before the half. Later had a brutal pick six that was either miscommunication or bad ball placement. Right after the pick, he marches right down the field, breaks a tackle in the pocket, and shows off the wheels. Something that’s important because he doesn’t look like a total statue. Gets the ball again and throws a horrific pick that was a total underthrow.

Mistakes cost his team the game. They needed a B+ performance from him and got a C instead. Lost by 2. I’ll show you some good and some bad below.

Devin Grant made a hell of a pick in this one. Had a bunch last year (5 for Buffalo). 6-foot-4 and made a nice play in this one. Just noting it.

Illinois

I know you want me to talk about Luke Altmyer. I’m not doing it other than to say he’s an old college guy that’s finally become a functional college QB. Congratulations. There’s nothing here. He just might run under a 5.0. Other than that who cares.

Nebraska

Freshy looks good, doesn’t he? You know what I’m talking about. We’re three years away from this conversation but so far so good.

Jahmal Banks is interesting. He feels like the Dillon Bell of this team. Would love to make him a tight end. Made a nice catch in the first quarter where he really had to high point it. Eight for 94 for Banks.

I just might be in on Isaiah Neyor. He never really got cooking at Texas but he has talent with some size. Had a touchdown sniped from him on a 50/50 ball that was ripped away for a pick. However, rebounded nicely and scored a beautiful score before the half. Has some height, weight, speed to him. I think he’s probably the one with the highest ceiling. Just looks like he has an extra burst with the skill to him. Had four receptions for 90 yards and two scores.

Tommi Hill, the guy who pick-sixed Shedeur last week, got hurt in this one and was in street clothes by the second half. Let’s hope he’s okay because there’s something there.

NC State

Kevin Conception has been the lone bright spot on this team. He got stripped by little Terrell like a little girl. This kind of stuff just can’t happen to an NFL player. Big time yikes. Five receptions for 40 yards in this one.

The score in this one was also totally misleading. It finished 59-35 but Clemson took their foot off the gas. NC State won the 4th quarter 21-0. Clemson dominated every facet of this game and it was never ever in doubt. Not even one single second into the game.

Clemson

Glad to see Cade Klubnik have some life in him. He couldn’t have looked worse against Georgia earlier in the year. Had a really nice long touchdown running showing off some athleticism. Not that I thought he was slow. To me, he looked like Case Keenum with human evolution. Maybe he has more juice to him than we all thought. He is still young and has some time on his side.

He just looked way better. Playing Georgia isn’t easy, obviously, but he’s actually executing throws down the field. Like making throws like this on the scramble having enough power to get the ball in the end zone. More than anything, happy to see he has some life in him.

Klubnik finished the game 16/24 for 209 yards and three scores. He also rushed for 70 yards on four attempts and a score.

Phil Mafah suffered a shoulder injury mid-game. He came back in the game in the second quarter and ripped off a 38-yard house call. He’s grown on me a tad but I still don’t think anything crazy NFL wise.

Clemson used to produce NFL wide outs every year. The last couple of years they haven’t done that. Antonio Williams is the best chance to change that. Three catches for 39 yards and two scores. More than anything, he finally looked like an NFL player, which is not something this program has had in a while.

This game was a total blow out. I turned it off well before the clock hit zero. Let me just give a quick rundown on some of these guys on defense because there are real NFL guys on that side of the ball.

Barrett Carter is a yes from me.

Wade Woodaz, super underrated.

Honestly, a lot of the talent is not yet Draft eligible but they’re going to have some dudes on that side of the ball.

Florida

Graham Mertz is such a waste of time. Just make the young kid the starter already. Mertz played better than expected last year, but any momentum he had coming into the year is burnt toast. Give him credit for making good throws in this one. I’m just not sure how much of it matters. What’s the best case scenario here? Good backup? Okay…

Went 19/21 for 201 and three scores. Wasn’t anything different than what we saw during his positive moments last year. He’s a Wisconsin transfer who resembles one of those Big 10 quarterbacks who never really turns into something. It is what it is.

Montrell Johnson fumbled on the first Lagway drive. It’s just Dameon Pierce vibes all over again. A bruiser who really isn’t that special in any way. Not untalented but a pure ceiling. Once the fumble happened, they started using some of the younger guys and they were just flat out more efficient. Not sure we can even bother with this Montrell thing any longer.

Mississippi State

This team sucks. Again, how seriously do you want me to take this win considering this same Mississippi State team got killed by Toledo?Jeff Lebby’s first year on the job and he’s got a lot of work to do.

USC

Great test for Miller Moss and these wide receivers. Can you did what Texas did? Basically same spot except Michigan is in wounded animal mode. But if you’re real you do what Texas did because this Michigan team clearly isn’t the same as last year. In fairness, this USC offensive line isn’t close to the one Texas has.

You saw what Quinn Ewers did against this defense. That guy is an NFL quarterback. He kept making big throw after big throw. Hard to see Miller Moss in that way after this one. Wasn’t just about struggles moving the ball. Yes, it’s Lincoln Riley so some points are going to be had. But just looking at those defensive tackles, he look shell shocked. We sure Moss is an NFL athlete? Just some times where it was like man he looks small and overmatched. He’s not Ewers, that’s obvious after this game.

Has some wiggle and can move himself around in the pocket. Like he had with the big throw to Zachariah Branch. But the arm isn’t big and he just gives me flashbacks of a less magical version of Bryce Young. The pick six killed them. Finished the game with 5.5 yards per attempt and 55% completion. Credit to him for sticking around and getting his game to a playable level but he’s got another three leaps to go before we talk NFL.

We talked a little about Eric Gentry before but you gotta give him credit. He’s long, lanky, and keeps making plays. Led the team with 12 tackles. Had one sack and three TFLs in this one. The defense as a whole is just way better. I guess coaching does matter, because the player turnover isn’t that drastic from a year ago. This Mason Cobb guy might be something too.

Woody Marks rushed for 100 yards on 17 carries against this front, which says something. Kinda looks like Dillon Johnson still but I think at this point we can call him an improved version of that. Has more fight to him. Ripped a fumble away on a turnover that Grant picked up. Runs hard. Not overly talented but SEC build to him. Enmanuel Wilson guy from the Packers vibes.

Michigan

No Colston Loveland in this one. Not a guy Michigan can afford to be without. Considering that, Donovan Edwards is really the only player on offense worth talking about. We use this term juice a lot. That guy is just a home run threat any time he touches the ball and it matters. He did it again in this one and it looked easier popping off a 41-yard house call. Did have a very costly fumble in the 4th that came back to bite them.

Maybe Kalel Mullings is worth talking about too. He ripped off a long touchdown run in his own right. He’s taking over that hammer role that Blake Corum left behind. He’s been there a while and is finally getting a real opportunity. Has looked good every time he touched the ball. Listed as 233 and might even be more powerful than Corum. Doesn’t look slow either.

Mullings went for 17 and 159 with two scores. Edwards had 14 for 74 and a score.

Kenneth Grant is growing on me. Maybe part of it is having life easier with the freak 55 on your side. He just looks like he’s got more to him than Mazi Smith. Smith was kinda just a fat turd that clogged the middle and did his job. Grant might have more to him. Right out of the gate makes a play in the run game with a beautiful swim move. Mason Graham, by the way, is a total animal. From California but plays like he is from Alaska and grew up bare-knuckle fighting wolves. I gotta have this guy on my team.

We’ve talked about Will Johnson plenty in this series. Holy hell. This pick six was just beautiful. Looks every bit like a first round corner and has for about two and a half years now.

Josaiah Stewart has had a weird trajectory. Had 12.5 sacks in 2021 and had nine combined the next two years. Just has been behind other guys in the rotation but has been there a while. Had two sacks in this one and up to four on the year. Maybe can turn him actually into something.

Utah

Cam Rising just can’t stay healthy. Isaac Wilson, Zach Wilson’s brother, got the start in this one. It was ugly for the most part but good enough to get the win. Still, a freshman and will likely start for the Utes next year.

Good to see Dorian Singer put up some numbers. USC transfer that did okay last year but so many mouths to feed there. Seven receptions for 95 yards in this one. 6-foot-177. Cost is going to be everything here. We’ve seen guys who are talented but not overly bit before. Just how polished is he? What’s the price tag? We’ll see on that.

Brant Kuithe hosted Cam Rising on his college visit, as the broadcast pointed out. It just epitomizes this Utah team. This is an OLD team. Once upon a time, Kuithe was the starter over Dalton Kincaid. That happened. Good to see him score and start looking like himself again.

Micah Bernard is a guy who has been there forever. 25 carries for 182 in this one. Not sure what really needs to be taken away. 6th-year guy who will probably be a camp invite. We’ll see after that but certainly not as promising as Zack Moss was coming out of there.

Oklahoma State

Ollie Gordon is off to a slow start. Maybe you can argue defenses have honed in on him and are just stacking the box knowing that Alan Bowman can’t beat them. Well, they’re on pace to score way more points than they did last year despite Gordon having a worse statistical season. However, I don’t really get it because this offensive line is filled with guys have are basically 35 and have been in the sport forever.

It was really a boring game to watch and Gordon didn’t get anything going again. Is this Chuba Hubbard 2.0? 3.8 yards per carry, and it would have been worse if Okie State didn’t make a mini comeback to get back into the game. I was in wait-and-see mode before. Now I’m just more confused now. I guess that’s a better feeling than the people who were all in and now are looking for the panic button. If anything, we remain in wait-and-see mode but caution will prevail here.

Miami

I used one of my rookie picks on Cam Ward in fantasy and so it’s hard to regret that choice. Damn, he looks good. The pick he threw in the first was totally on Jacolby George who totally gave it to the DB. Miami won 50-15 and Bama seriously struggled against USF.

There’s really just something about him. Smart and instinctive. Even takes good angles when he takes off and runs. So much swag and confidence too. Calling his own audibles. It literally got to the point where you could see him tell the defense what was coming and still execute. This guy is just on another level. He’s on cruise control the whole time. Game looks easy. Nothing surprises him. He’s four steps ahead and being arrogant in a good way about it. Threw for over 400 yards and three scores in this one. Can pick up the chains with his legs too.

If I had the first pick in the draft and had to make a pick tomorrow, I’m turning in the card for Cam Ward. That could change by the time the real draft gets here. We got a lot more season to go. I just think we’re getting more of the same if not better. Miami is for real (as I tried to tell you).

Quick hitters on the weapons:

Isaiah Horton, welcome to the party. Good height on him. Finally making some plays out there. Looked good. Well done.

Xavier Restrepo, sign me up. I’ll take him in the middle rounds. No problem with that pick. Competitive, good hands, fights. I’m in here.

Elijah Arroyo has some serious talent. Not a first round pick despite whatever Louis Riddick wants to say on the broadcast. But a serous lump of clay that could be a real player.

South Florida

Alex Golesh tried. He will get a bigger job eventually.

Tennessee

Bru McCoy just looks like Cedric Tillman 2.0. Yes, McCoy is still there somehow. Broke his ankle last year so good so see he’s back and making people miss like this. 6th year guy. Finished the game with four receptions for 92 yards. I think a bigger point needs to be made on this receiving room. They might have multiple NFL guys in that room that I don’t think we’ve seen the best of. Think this team will gain another gear as the floor is lava becomes a better and better passer. Could be the most underrated receiver room in the country. It’s deep with skill and speed.

Dylan Sampson is better than Jaylen Wright.

This Tennessee front won the game. Include that linebacker Pili in that discussion. A guy who started his career in 2019 and otherwise would be on BYU but instead is wrecking things in the SEC. Team had 11 TFLs in this one. That front (mostly the defensive line) is not just talented. It’s assembly line deep talented.

Oklahoma

Remember what I said about Gavin Sawchuk a few weeks ago? Freshy Tatum started the game. Shocker… Why don’t you listen to me? Two carries for -2 yards for Sawchuk. He’s a goner.

The more I see Deion Burks the more I like him. He’s just got a burst to him but looks like a running back playing receiver but good at it. 32 yards through the air and 18 on the ground. If he played for the other team, he would have put up bigger numbers.

More than anything, I think Brent Venables told us who he is. Can fix a defense. Defense wasn’t the problem. Even have some players on that side of the ball. Clueless on offense and then threw the kid Arnold under the bus. Arnold wasn’t the reason why Oklahoma lost this game. Anybody want to bet he instantly looks better the second he’s away from that idiot Venables? Venables should be ashamed of himself for benching Arnold. Oklahoma lost this game because Heupal is a WAY better coach than him. Floor is lava turned the ball over too. Oklahoma offensive line got smoked and that’s what changed the game. They’re going to be a turnstile in the SEC for years to come. Venables won’t last super long there. Not with the conference realignment.

Bonus:

I watched bits and pieces of LSU beat UCLA. I’m just telling you. That Nussmeier is something, isn’t he? Dear, Kyren Lacy. Please catch the football better. I want to like you.

Torn ACL for Harold Perkins. Such a shame. When it comes to the player, you know my stance on it by now. Have him rush the passer and that be the end of it.

Colorado

Dallan Hayden did not play in this game. The offensive line isn’t good in fairness but he really hasn’t gotten going yet. The injury for the Ohio State transfer isn’t expected to be overly serious and is expected back next week.

Beyond that, a hell of a win for the Buffs. Incredible comeback and the starts on that team deserve so much credit. Give Shedeur Sanders his flowers. Give Ohtani, I mean Travis Hunter, even more flowers. Shedeur can play. It’s a matter of just how good he is. Ohtani is a freak. It’s a matter of can he actually play both ways at the NFL level. I just don’t know how you rule it out given what he’s doing. That’s an alien.

Kansas State got whooped by BYU. I tried to watch some of it but that late at night with the game out of hand, it was sleepy time for me.
