The karma gods were not watching; this sport is broken. I don’t care what anybody says, the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery was clearly rigged and totally corrupt. By the way, I put out a poll, and an overwhelming majority of people agree that this was corruption at its finest.
1.8%.
That’s the chance the Mavericks had to land the top overall pick.
By the way, the tanking teams (Washington and Utah) were both oddly bounced from the top 4 again. Something the NBA continues to do. At some point, isn’t it extremely odd that the tanking teams with the best odds continue to not win the lottery since they changed the format?
This entire thing reeks. Sure, NBA, you didn’t give the Mavs this pick to remove public backlash for Nico Harrison giving Luka Doncic to the Lakers. Sure, you didn’t, NBA. Just like you had nothing to do with Cleveland winning the lottery three out of four years because you knew LeBron was coming back. Just like you didn’t have anything to do with New Orleans winning Anthony Davis when the league controlled the team and was looking for a new owner. Clearly, that lottery wasn’t corrupt either…
The league has an easy way to solve this. The NHL aired its lottery live on TV. Everyone saw the ping pong balls go through the mixer. The NBA would never do such a thing because they fix the process. If there’s nothing to hide, show us the process. Except they won’t do that for all the reasons I just went over.
Totally insane. Basketball is broken.
