2025 Five-Star CB Na’eem Offord Flips From Ohio State To Oregon

Dan Lanning is putting in work on the recruiting trail this season, as on Early National Signing Day, he successfully flipped five-star cornerback prospect Na’eem Offord from Ohio State to play for the Ducks next season. Offord, the no. 12 overall prospect (no. 2 overall CB), stunned the College Football world today as he announced his intention to play in Eugene next season.

Na’eem Offord had been the highest-ranked prospect in Ryan Day’s recruiting class since Offord originally committed back in February of this year. This deals a crushing blow to the Buckeyes, but Offord had been visiting with both Oregon and Auburn all fall before eventually landing on Oregon. He now ranks as the second-highest commitment for Lanning, only behind Dakorien Moore, who is the top-ranked wide receiver prospect in this cycle. Offord was projected to commit to Auburn as recently as two weeks ago, after an 11/23 visit to the Tigers’ program.

Na’eem Offord headlines a stacked defensive recruiting class for the Ducks, as they have also secured secondary commitments from Brandon Finney (no. 5 overall CB), Dorian Brew (no. 8 overall CB), and Trey McNutt (no. 4 overall S). Oregon is in the running for the College Football National Championship this year, and it appears they are re-tooling to make runs at a title for years to come. The offensive recruiting in this class has been strong, but one could make the argument that the defensive commitments Oregon has received have been among the best in the country.

As of December 4th, Oregon hosts the number four overall class for 2025, sitting only behind Texas, Alabama and Georgia in that order.
