Four-Star QB Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele Flips From Cal To Oregon

Has anyone had a better Early National Signing Day than Dan Lanning? First, he was able to flip one of the top cornerbacks in the country in Na’eem Offord, and today he was also able to snag Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele from Cal. The four-star Quarterback out of Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell is the number one overall recruit out of the state of Hawaii. JKS had been committed to Cal since July and even boasted about how well his recent visit to Berkley went but ultimately decided to make the move to Oregon.

Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele follows in the footsteps of his fellow Hawaiian Dillon Gabriel in making the move to Oregon. JKS, the number eight overall Quarterback in the country, joins an immensely talented recruiting class for Dan Lanning, who currently sits fourth overall behind Texas, Alabama, and Georgia in that order. JKS now joins Akili Smith Jr., who both this summer in the Elite 11 finals, as prized Oregon commitments for the future. JKS dazzled during the competition, ultimately earning him a fourth-star as a prospect and becoming a late riser in this year’s class.

Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele had this to say about a recent visit he had taken to Eugene. Full quote via ESPN.com:

“It was cool being able to see [offensive coordinator] Will Stein and [offensive analyst] Matt Lombardi,” Sagapolutele told ESPN of the visit. “Just watching them with the QBs, seeing how they work downfield and how they prepare a game was great. I just love the developmental part at Oregon.”

Oregon has done an outstanding job bringing in talent on both sides of the ball, and getting someone the caliber of JKS after the summer and fall he has put together brings a ton of excitement for the Ducks’ future.
