I can’t wait for college football. Yes, the Stock Report notes will be back but we still need to get a grasp on the new incoming true freshmen. We’re here to talk about which ones you need to keep an extra eye on because they could pop as soon as this year.
By the way, the list I did last year was pretty accurate at identifying those instant-impact guys, for what it’s worth.
Honorable Mention: KJ Bolden (Georgia)
I threw KJ Bolden in here just because he flipped to Georgia late and it’s going to be fun if he can become the next iteration of Malaki Starks for this team.
Robinson is a five-star recruit and the number-one-ranked corner in the country. He also stared at perennial high school powerhouse IMG Academy. I think they might be ramping this dude up quicker than most expect. He enrolled in January and has already been on the field for their Spring workouts.
Georgia has lost Kelee Ringo and Kamari Lassiter in back-to-back years. Robinson might be thrust into action right away.
Dylan Raiola is on this list because he changed his mind. Raiola was long committed to Georgia but flipped to play for Nebraska. I’m not sure I agree with his decision, but what can’t be denied is the fact that he’s going to be on the field a lot sooner. All indications point to Raiola being named the starter this year. How’s he going to fare this young in the Big 10? We’re about to find out.
Human evolution is real. The NFL is a wide receiver factory right now and more kids like this are going to keep coming through the system. Coleman is a five star guy and ranked 5th nationally according to 247. Auburn now has a sneaky WR room with him and transfer KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
Hugh Freeze is going to win there eventually. Remember, this is the guy that recruited DK Metcalf and AJ Brown to Ole Miss. Coleman appears freaky in his own right.
We talked about this I think 100 times last year with the Stock Report series in regards to Shedeur Sanders. That Colorado offensive line last year was beyond terrible. Well, Seaton comes in to be the new left tackle. He was the number-one-ranked tackle during this last cycle and CU got him. What if Colorado gets quality offensive line play this year? It could make a world of difference in what happens this year.
Ohio State has become a factory for producing quality wide receivers. This cat appears to be a different breed from even the top-end guys they have had. Smith is the number one ranked player in the country and has all the potential in the world to become a generational talent. He looked damn good in the Spring Game. I think it’s safe to say here that Smith will more than likely be a stud with the Buckeyes sooner rather than later.
