2024-25 Rising Stars Game Rosters Announced

We are roughly two-and-a-half weeks away from the 2024-25 NBA All-Star break, which will be held in San Francisco, Calif., five years after Chase Center was opened.

One of the highlight events is the Rising Stars game, which features some of the best young stars in today’s game! The rosters with the rookies, sophomores and G-Leaguers were revealed Tuesday–featuring 10 rookies, 11 sophomores and seven G-Leaguers.

While the G-League will have its own team, each of those other 21 players will be divided into three teams of seven. But who are those players? Check out the list below!

*** — injury replacement

Who will be possible injury replacements for 2025 Rising Stars Game?

As of right now, there will be three players who will be injury replacements for the Rising Stars Game.

For the rookies, the likely frontrunner to replace McCain–even though they don’t play the same position–is Miami Heat rookie Kel’el Ware, who’s currently the betting favorite to win Rookie of the Year.

He was taken one spot ahead of McCain in the 2024 NBA Draft and has blossomed since entering the Heat rotation in late December. Over his last eight games, the 7-foot big has averaged 16.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on 53.6/45.2/91.7 shooting splits.

It’s difficult to decipher which sophomore should be an injury replacement. A few that come to mind are Detroit’s Ausar Thompson, Portland’s Toumani Camara, Golden State’s Brandin Podziemski, Houston’s Cam Whitmore and Denver’s Julian Strawther. I’d personally reward Thompson and Camara, but to each their own!

It’s also very funny that Wembanyama was given a spot. He’s a superstar talent. But I’d personally bypass the game if I were him since he’s almost a surefire lock to make the All-Star game. Take this game off, even though it still is a very cool honor that he was recognized.

What do you think about this year’s roster? Let us know in the comments!
