2023 NFL Draft War Room: Los Angeles Chargers

Brandon Staley is somehow back with the Chargers, so I simply refuse to care about this team. When that happens, wake me up. It should have already happened. Let’s get right down to business regardless and try to improve this football team. Tom Telesco is half smart, at least? Certainly not full smart but that’s a story for another day. Here is your 2023 NFL Draft War Room on the Los Angeles Chargers!

  • First round (No. 21)
  • Second round (No. 54)
  • Third round (No. 85)
  • Fourth round (No. 125)
  • Fifth round (No. 156)
  • Sixth round (No. 200)
  • Seventh round (No. 239)

No funny business with this draft. The Chargers have all of their picks and no additional picks from anybody else. I’m not sure why you would run your football team that way but whatever. This is also Telesco we’re talking about. The same man who idiotically hired Anthony Lynn prior to the Staley hire. Dumb as a doorknob.

Having said all of that, this team is obviously talented from a pure roster perspective. There isn’t much work to be done here. Let’s get one more corner to pair with Asante Samuel Jr. and one more safety to pair with Derwin James? If you do that correctly, it becomes harder for Staley to botch it. He will find a way but you get the point.

Some other underrated needs here to discuss. In a perfect world, the Chargers come out of this draft with a tackle. We’ll see if fans are happy with who we take. Trey Pipkins is the weakest link along the line. It’s time we find his replacement. I can outbench Pipkins and he’s your starter soooo.

Additionally, continuing to stock up on weapons makes sense. If you’re a Gerald Everett believer, that’s great, but adding another body there makes sense. A running back would make sense given the Austin Ekeler uncertainty. How about another receiver too?
