2023 NFL Draft Guard Rankings

We’re coming down to the wire here. No, there won’t be 2023 NFL Draft profiles for every single one of these guys. Again, the Combine notes will tell you a lot about how I feel. Overall, it’s a really strong guard class so make sure to grab one on draft day. Let’s get right to the 2023 NFL Draft guard rankings and make sure to comment!

10: Atonio Mafi (UCLA)

Go peep UCLA’s run game this past year. Mafi and Gaines ate in the middle of the field. It’s a tragedy Mafi didn’t get invited to the Combine. Not sure he has as nimble feet as Gaines but there isn’t much of a gap either.

We actually have this draft profile!

9: Jon Gaines (UCLA

8: Asim Richards (North Carolina)

Three year starter with mostly tackle experience. I think he’s going to guard and will stack up well here. Philadelphia guy that has heavy hands. Will move better in a phonebooth.

7: Braeden Daniels (Utah)

First team All-Pac 12. Allowed just five sacks during his entire college career. Played left tackle this year out of necessity too. Not the best bender but should be able to function for any zone blocking team.

6: Richard Gouriage (Florida)

SEC homer! Sure, whatever, I don’t care. Florida is a mess but their offensive line wasn’t. This guy is good. 42 starts at Florida allowing just one sack at left tackle this year. Going to be a perfect swiss army knife for any team.

5: Emil Ekiyor (Alabama)

Much better than his teammate Tyler Steen. Three year starter for Bama. Going to be a plug and play guy.

4: Peter Skoronski (Northwestern)

Sorry, not sorry, he’s upper middle class Zack Martin. You can pretend he’s a tackle, but he’s not. 32-inch arms are not left tackle quality. His movement skills at the combine tell you that he’s not a left tackle either. It’s not a knock. Just get with the program. Really good in the run game. Will be a solid pro for a long time. He’s just not this heroic left tackle prospect you all think he is.

3: Cody Mauch (North Dakota State)

Love this dude. Most versatile offensive lineman in the class. Can play everywhere. Feels a lot like Ali Marpet. Never felt out of place against real competition at the Senior Bowl. Athletic, strong, ripped out 29 on the bench. Backyard brawler you want on your side.

2: Steve Avila (TCU)

Best ass in the draft. Team captain. Can play center too if you want him to. Built like a house at 332. I just don’t know how you move that guy. Big part of the TCU run.

1: O’Cyrus Torrence (Florida)

MFer. That’s all you need to know. That’s what he is. Didn’t get called for a single penalty in 2022 and all he did was excavate people out the building. Jalen Carter didn’t look worse all year. Finished entire college career without allowing a sack. Future starter is the minimum here. He’s going to be one of those guys Madden gives a 95 rating to in a few years.
