2022 Rule 5 Draft Results

It’s one of the most overlooked days on the MLB calendar but that doesn’t mean it isn’t important. The 2022 Rule 5 Draft was held today and the results are in. Below I’m going to list all of the picks so you know which prospects are changing locations.

For those that don’t know what the Rule 5 Draft is, we have a post that explains everything you need to know. Long story short; it’s a chance for some of the bad teams to automatically insert some young talent on their roster from rival clubs that have no room on their 40-man roster.

Without further ado, here are the results.

Second Round

all teams passed

To close things out here, it’s pretty notable that the Red Sox lost three players. One of which is Thad Ward, a young pitcher with some promise as a backend starter. It remains unclear why Boston didn’t protect him but it’s something to monitor moving forward.
