Fantasy Football Breakout Candidates: Week 14

We are nearing the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Season! And we’re in the final week of bye weeks, and for most of you, the final week of your fantasy football regular season! Let’s dive into some Week 14 fantasy breakout candidates. But let’s see how we did in Week 13?

One step forward, two steps backwards. Let’s have three steps forward this week!

Let’s jump into our Week 14 candidates!

Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions

Williams only played eight snaps in his NFL Debut last weekend against the Jaguars. This week, he’s up against a questionable, beat up Minnesota Vikings secondary without safety Harrison Smith. When Williams is on the field, he absolutely has the capability to make Minnesota pay in-space. It’s already enough that the Vikings have to account for Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark. Adding Jameson Williams to the equation adds a completely different dimension to the offense that could tip the game in the favor of a red hot Lions offense.

Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans

I think Okonkwo carries plenty of breakout potential in Week 14, in part because of Treylon Burks’ concussion, which will keep him out of action this week. It’s not impossible that Tennessee runs the rock 30-40 times with Derrick Henry against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Okonkwo could feature in the passing game. In each of the last two weeks, the rookie tight end caught seven combined passes for 103 yards. The Jaguars have been middle-of-the-pack against opposing tight ends this season, but making Tannehill beat them could lead to a big week for Okonkwo.

Rhomandre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots

Stevenson’s production has taken a dip since he was a fringe top-10 running back in the middle of the season. He had a six-game stretch where he averaged over 116 scrimmage yards per game with four touchdowns; over the last four weeks, he’s averaged 85.5 scrimmage yards with just one touchdown. With 11 days between its Thursday battle against Buffalo to its road Monday night affair on the road against a questionable Cardinals defense could lead to Stevenson having a breakout night.

TJ Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings

A classic #RevengeGame™ on hand with Hockenson and the Detroit Lions! Once again, expect the ball to be aired out a lot! With that, I expect Hockenson to receive plenty of targets — he’s received at least six in each of his five games with Minnesota — in his return to the Motor City.
