The Cincinnati Bengals are no longer boring… or at least don’t have to be. Joe Burrow has brought some buzz to the organization but they better protect him. You would have to imagine that’s the goal by Duke Tobin and the rest of the franchise. Let’s head inside the Bengals 2021 NFL Draft war room!

Round 1: No. 5 overall
Round 2: No. 38
Round 3: No. 69
Round 4: No. 111
Round 5: No. 149
Round 6: No. 190
Round 7: No. 202 (from Dolphins through Texans), No. 235 (from Lions through Seahawks)

Cincinnati would rather die than trade so it’s the least shocking news ever to see their picks straight and narrow.

I just have a hunch Cincinnati is targeting Rashawn Slater. I have no inside information, but it seems like a Bengals pick. Slater would give the Bengals that cornerstone left tackle it’s seeking. Furthermore, Slater feels like a Bengal. He played college football at Northwestern. Cincinnati feels like Big 10 country. I think he’s their guy.

The Bengals haven’t given Burrow any of his LSU teammates. After passing on Ja’Marr Chase, would Burrow push for Terrace Marshall in round two? AJ Green is no longer part of the organization. John Ross (if it matters) skipped town too. Marshall could fit right in with Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. Building a functional offense around Burrow has to be the goal.

At some point, the Bengals should take a flier on a tight end too. Drew Sample ain’t it. Kenny Yeboah at Ole Miss could be an option. He torched Bama this year. It could be enough for the Bengals to pull the trigger.
