2021 Fantasy Football: Predicting Top Finisher at Each Postition

The 2021 NFL Season is right around the corner, and so are most people’s fantasy football drafts. Here are my predictions for who finishes at the top of each position in fantasy points.

Quarterback: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Murray has DeAndre Hopkins, so you already know he’s throwing for a ton of yards. He also has a ton of rushing upside. After finishing as the QB2 in 2020, I think Kyler Murray takes over the top spot this year from Josh Allen.

Running Back: Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers

I briefly considered giving this to Alvin Kamara because of how insanely versatile he is, but the uncertainty regarding the Saints’ quarterback situation made me default to McCaffrey. The Panthers running back is returning from injury this year and he’s a yards monster with great receiving upside. I don’t know that Derrick Henry can keep up his insane production for a third season. CMac is due for a big year.

Wide Receiver: Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers

Davante Adams finished as the WR1 last year, and I think he’ll do it again this year. Aaron Rodgers is coming off an MVP year and the Packers have literally no one else he would want to throw the ball to. Adams will rack up targets and yards this season as an undisputed top target with an elite quarterback.

Tight End: Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller is an elite fantasy tight end. I’ve already predicted that he will break the single-season record for receiving yards by a tight end, so I have to stick with him for this prediction as well. He should also get a good amount of red zone looks, so look for his touchdown totals to boost his numbers.

Kicker: Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens

Justin Tucker is the GOAT. Picking a kicker for fantasy is always a crapshoot anyway, so I’m giving this one to him by default.

Defense: Denver Broncos

I’ve already written how much I love the Broncos defense. They have studs all over the field, one of the best secondaries in the NFL, and a top-10 defensive line. With their relatively comfortable schedule, I’m rolling with them to produce lots of fantasy points.
