2020 NFL Draft War Room: Baltimore Ravens

2020 NFL Draft
A year ago, the Ravens drafted Marquise Brown. That pick seems to be working out well. Let’s dive into Baltimore’s 2020 NFL Draft War Room. (Kevin Richardson / Baltimore Sun video)

This one is going to be painful for me because It’s just another wasted season until Lamar Jackson is gone. However, we will go over every team before the 2020 NFL Draft and the Baltimore Ravens are up next. After back to back flame outs in the postseason, what can we expect from the Ravens during the 2020 NFL Draft? We dive into their war room.

Baltimore has 9 picks as of now. They picked up a 2nd rounder in the Hayden Hurst trade. STEAL! They picked up a 3rd round comp pick presumably for Za’Darius Smith leaving. The Ravens essentially have two picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round. They have flexibility heading into the draft.

With pick 28, Baltimore likes to trade down if their guy isn’t available. I have a feeling they want a linebacker. The Ravens have failed to replace CJ Mosley. They lost Josh Bynes this offseason too. Try to name the starting middle linebackers for the Ravens right now. I bet you can’t. Kenneth Murray and Patrick Queen are high on their radar.

The Ravens have also failed to replace Terrell Suggs. They have swung and missed a lot finding pass rushers. Tim Williams, Bronson Kaufusi and Kamalei Correa have given me nightmares. It’s not a deep pass rusher class so you have to go out and address this early. Julian Okwara could be a player of interest. Okwara has big time sack production at Notre Dame with 24.5 over the last 3 years. Could be one of many options.

Marshall Yanda retiring leaves a big hole. Yanda is the best guard of my life. You don’t just replace someone like that. Damien Lewis would be a good gamble if available in the 3rd round. Lewis was a big part of that LSU offensive line. Keeping this run game churning is imperative. Filling the hole Yanda left behind is a must.
