Davis according to many people suggest is going to be a first-round pick in April. Reuben Foster and Zach Cunningham are the other highly touted inside linebackers. Davis is going to be an outside linebacker in a 4-3 or an inside linebacker in a 3-4 next year for some NFL team.
Last season people knocked Myles Jack down a whole round for missing the combine. Not being able to participate in this event could slide him down draft boards in a similar fashion. Davis however is expected to be ready for the Florida Pro Day later in the draft process.
Malik Hooker from Ohio State and Corey Davis from Western Michigan are the other known potential first round prospects who will miss the event.
