The Dallas Cowboys held a press conference today, where they announced that the recently retired offensive lineman Zack Martin will be entering the Cowboys Ring of Honor. This is a no-brainer decision on the part of the Cowboys upper management, as Martin is one of the best interior offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL. During his NFL career, Martin was a seven-time AP All-Pro and a nine-time Pro Bowler.
Here are the list of names who are currently in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor:
Personally, I don’t totally get the appeal of the hype of entering a team’s Ring of Honor. Sure, it’s a cool way for the team to recognize and acknowledge all the good you did for the team. But you know what would be better than a Ring of Honor spot? A Hall of Fame nod. Luckily, for Zack Martin, I don’t think he has to worry whether he will get a gold jacket or not. I’m sure once his five-year waiting period is up, he will be getting his name called.
Zack Martin was regarded as one of, if not, the best guard in the NFL during his playing career, and will go down as one of the best to ever do it. Now, his legacy will live on in Cowboys Stadium forever, as he will be enshrined in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor.
