WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Preview and Predictions – The Jiarmani Edition

WWE’s Royal Rumble 2024 is this Saturday. Marking another road to Wrestlemania, The Royal Rumble is my favorite event on the wrestling calendar. There is just no other event that can compare to it. Who will be the first to punch their ticket in the Royal Rumble match? Who can cement their place on the Wrestlemania card with a win? Let’s answer those questions or at least predict the answers.

Women’s Royal Rumble match:

Bayley’s story has been a slow-burning affair of her eventual removal from her Damage CTRL faction. Dakota Kai seemingly is pulling strings behind Bayley’s back with all other members including Women’s Champion Iyo Sky in the know. All members except Bayley.

A Rumble match victory for Bayley would put the next phase of this story into higher gear. Ultimately leading to Bayley challenging Iyo Sky for the Championship at Wrestlemania.

Winner: Bayley

Other possible winners: Jade Cargill and Becky Lynch

I anticipate Jade Cargill to make her long-awaited debut in the Rumble match. Possibly to begin a Wrestlemania program with another top star or begin her NXT run. Either way, Cargill should arrive here and she’ll be worth the wait.

Trinity or Naomi as she is remembered in WWE seems poised to return to the company after wrapping up her time with TNA, a return that will send fans into a frenzy, especially with her “Feel The Glow” entrance.

Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville have also been off TV for a long time now for various reasons. I wouldn’t be surprised if either returns at the Rumble as well.

United States Championship: Kevin Owens vs. Logan Paul (c):

While I love Kevin Owens, WWE will likely have Logan Paul holding the U.S. title until Wrestlemania. That said, I can assume some shenanigans will be at play to protect Owens. This match does have a chance to be a show stealer.

I wouldn’t be mad if Owens walked away victorious.

Winner: Logan Paul

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match: AJ Styles vs. LA Knight vs. Randy Orton vs. (c) Roman Reigns:

From how this reign has been handled Roman Reigns seemingly will drop his championship only at Wrestlemania. I do not see an instance where the title changes hands with Roman Reigns not taking the loss himself. I see the reason to make the match a four-way to protect a returning Randy Orton from eating a pin.

Roman Reigns needs a big win because his character has lost its dominant aura. In regards to winning matches by himself decisively. Reigns winning at the Royal Rumble can reestablish him as a monster heel champion like before.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Men’s Royal Rumble Match:

This year’s Royal Rumble match is slated to be the most unpredictable in the last few years. WWE has done a great job of making at least four-to-five credible contenders to win this year’s Rumble Match. However, I believe CM Punk will be the one to win the Royal Rumble this year.

Saturday will be Punk’s first televised in-ring match in WWE 10 years to the event. A lot of the fanbase is behind the idea of CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Especially with Punk’s return he has made it clear he wants to headline Wrestlemania. I can’t imagine a better time to make that happen than now with a Royal Rumble match win.

Winner: CM Punk

Other possible winners: Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Drew McIntyre

As for the Men’s Rumble Match, many surprises seem logical to happen during the match. A big one is the return of Andrade “Cien” Almas or Andrade El Idolo in AEW. A Triple-H guy in NXT and was one of the faces of the brand during his first run. I feel Almas’s return is a certainty. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Rey Mysterio return from knee surgery to rekindle his feud with Santos Escobar.

Regardless of who comes out on top at the Royal Rumble event, I am anticipating the best iteration of the historic event in recent memory; with many surprise appearances, returns and chaos in store, I’m sure.

Saturday may very well be a night to remember for Professional Wrestling this year, kicking off what can potentially be the biggest time in WWE and Wrestling history to this point. The road to Wrestlemania 40 all starts with the Royal Rumble.
