Sports media has a Switzerland problem. Now is the time for the Section 10 fan boys to decide which side of the coin they side with.
The Rafael Devers trade was a big turning point in the franchise, and the Section 10 fan boys have a big choice to make.
They really only have two options:
1: Will they grow a set and tell the truth even if it has short-term consequences attached to it?
2: Will they do what they have always done? You know what I’m talking about if you’re smart and observe. Will they do the thing that looks like this…
“We understand you’re upset, but here’s what really went down, and we’re only going to tell you 35% of it because we value our access to the club”.
As of now, they haven’t picked a lane.
Fearful leader Jared Carrabis posted this video after the trade.
It’s over 5 minutes long of the same thing being said over and over again. Filled with a lot of “I’m not sure what’s going on”. “How can you do this?” sort of vibes. There wasn’t a strong take mixed in here. The entire rant was filled with “I didn’t see this coming”.
I thought your job was to educate Red Sox fans on what’s going on? I don’t get paid a big boy check by Underdog, and I warned the fan base Craig Breslow was on the verge of doing something dangerous before they did. He should have been fired immediately after that Greg Hill radio interview, but nobody spoke up.
Luckily for the Underdog fan boys, I’m not required to go nuclear after Fast Draft fumbled the bag. I’m willing to be diplomatic for the sake of Red Sox Nation. Just so long as the Section 10 groupies get their act together.
Is anybody going to tell the truth over there? Is anybody going to acknowledge that all of this stems from bad ego and bad leadership? Is anybody over there going to actually take action instead of just being mad about what’s going on?
The entire fan base is watching, including the karma gods. Just crying about it on a podcast isn’t enough. It’s time to take action. Will they actually grow a set and do the right thing? I doubt it, but time will tell.
