Desmond Bane got shipped out of town. Is Jaren Jackson Jr next?
If Memphis can get four first round picks ++ for Bane… imagine what they can get for JJJ?
It would appear that initial reports indicate that the Memphis Grizzlies aren’t looking to trade Jaren. However, are we sure we should accept that information on full face value? Are we sure he’s totally untouchable?
Head honcho Zach Kleiman already admitted his team isn’t close to contention. If that’s the case, why would JJJ even consider staying in small market Memphis? Not to mention the fact that Ja Morant is a knucklehead and dealing with him as a teammate has to be the absolute worst. Trading a guy like Bane probably only made Morant more egotistical in the sense that it’s his team and can do whatever he wants.
Pick up the phone and call Memphis. If we’ve learned anything from the past few months, everyone and anyone is tradeable. These people running these teams continue to let their ego constantly get in the way, and if someone presents a certain set of circumstances involving JJJ… who’s to say Memphis won’t trade him?
And frankly… if the player is smart, he forces his way out. I would argue now is the time to do so after missing out on the monster pay day because of a ridiculous set of rules that allows media members to decide team builds based on award voting.
