Why You’re An Idiot If You Feel Sorry For Florida State

The committee made the right call and it’s not arguable. Sorry, not sorry, but Florida State had to be left out. In reality, what nobody is willing to acknowledge is the fact that this is probably the greatest thing that happened to this program and nobody should feel sorry for them.

I truly don’t know where to start because there are about 1,000 things to say so I’m going to break this down one by one.

A: Jordan Travis clearly needs to learn the lesson of the Chinese Farmer. The fact that Travis said something so insane proves how irrational Florida State people are being right now.

B: There is no handwritten rule in the guidelines that says if you’re an undefeated Power Five Conference Champ you’re automatically given a spot in the playoff. It’s just not in the rule book. To suggest that’s the end all be all is false.

C: Florida State is a different team with and without Jordan Travis. This is a different conversation if he’s healthy. It is what it is. If your team had Texas’ quarterback depth, maybe you’re in right now.

D: Deion Sanders said everything that needed to be said. It’s not a playoff if Georgia and Alabama aren’t in. The SEC is the best conference in America. They dominate recruiting. They dominate the NFL Draft. They dominate the National Championship trophy case.

E: Speaking of Georgia… that team got left out. A team that won back-to-back National Titles and had a 29-game win streak snapped because they lost by three to Nick Saban where the kicked doinked the tie score. Florida State didn’t get robbed. Georgia did and if anything we should be arguing if they should be in over Washington. Again, we left out the back-to-back National Champs because of a 3-point loss to the greatest head coach in the history of the sport where the kicker doinked the tie score. Now that team got screwed. Just stop trying to feed me nonsense that Florida State is the deserving team that has to be in.

F: Have you people learned nothing? The committee should have never put Cincinnati in. The committee should have never put TCU in. Is this really want you want because more than likely this would have been the result if Florida State with their third quarterback would have been in.

Mike Norvell Goes Off on the College Football Playoff Committee

Most importantly, Mike Norvell has a golden ticket. For the rest of time, he can tell his boosters that they got screwed. For the rest of time, he has rocket fuel for all the players in his locker room. This only helps that program and would have been more damaging had they been exposed in the playoffs. That’s the reality. It’s a matter of if you’re smart enough to recognize it.

Most importantly, fans know now that Norvell is a home run hire and that should make everybody sleep better at night.
