Vladislav Gavrikov Wants Extension From Kings

Vladislav Gavrikov is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of the 2024-25 NFL Season. There also aren’t a ton of sexy names available on the open market, especially on the blue line. Gavrikov has a great stick and likely would do well if he were to become available.

With that said, Gavrikov hopes to stay in Los Angeles for the long haul. Check out these comments in a recent interview. It would sure seem like he’s happy with the Kings organization.

VIA recent interview with Daria Tuboltseva of RG.org:

We shared our position, but it’s too early to discuss a new contract. I have a full no-trade clause, so the trade deadline isn’t an issue for me – we have plenty of time. I haven’t decided on the term yet, but my priority is a long-term contract. As for the financial side, we haven’t gotten to that yet.

When Vladislav Gavrikov was first traded to the LA Kings, he signed just a mini two-year extension to extend his stay in LA. He explained why he wanted a shorter deal the first time around too.

When I got to L.A., I needed time to decide if my family and I wanted to stay. That’s why we agreed on a short-term contract with the Kings. Now we know what we want, and we can sign a long-term deal here.

Gavrikov, 29, is mostly a defensive defenseman but has 16 points in 40 games and is a +16 on the season.
