The Vikings are in the midst of overhauling the interior of their offensive line. The most fascinating switch comes at the center position. Ryan Kelly is in after signing a two year deal with the team. That leaves Garrett Bradbury on the outside who will now be moved on from.
“The Minnesota Vikings’ revamped offensive line will end longtime center Garrett Bradbury’s time with the organization, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.”
“The Vikings plan to release Bradbury unless a trade can be worked out, the sources told Schefter.”
Another win for scout Trey who tried to warn everyone that Bradbury was the most overrated offensive line prospect during that 2019 NFL Draft. Here are my Combine notes to prove it. Bradbury had no business being a high draft pick and Minnesota paid the consequences for that miss. Consequences as in being forced to overpay Kelly on a free agent contract and getting poor performance they picked in the first round that year.
Let’s be real about it. Kelly is a solid player while Bradbury absolutely sucks and has always been undersized and beaten by power during his entire career.
Let me catch you up to speed on the overhaul along the Vikings offensive line. Will Fries is also coming over from Indianapolis. Ed Ingram got traded to the Texans. It sure feels like the Vikings upgraded two of their interior offensive line spots. It’s a matter of by how much and if it was worth the price of acquisition to actually do so. I would strongly lean yes but only time would tell.
