Venom 3 reportedly set to be released in the fall of 2024

Spider-Man is one of the most popular comic book superheroes. The web-slinger has eight stand-alone movies at this point as well as numerous games. The newest game named Spider-Man 2 just had its release date confirmed. However, Spider-Man is not only loved because of his powers but he has a plethora of phenomenal villains. A fan-favorite villain is Venom, who now has two stand-alone movies of its own with a Venom 3 movie reportedly going to be released in October of 2024, according to Variety.

Venom is played by incredible actor Tom Hardy who has been in other films like Mad Max, Inception, and Legend. Also, he is not new to playing comic book characters as he was the villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. However, the Venom series is not as critically acclaimed as other comic book series. The films appear to have a strong enough fan base as there is a third film in the works.

There are not many details known about the film except that actors Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple will be in the film. In the last Venom movie, Hardy faced off against the villain Carnage played by Woody Harrelson. Hopefully, in Venom 3 fans will get to see the powerful Venom go toe to toe with another iconic villain from the Spider-Man universe.

Venom is a fan favorite so it makes sense that the character got its series, especially when an actor of Hardy’s caliber is attached to the project. However, Spider-Man has a great gallery of villains that deserve to be on the big screen.

The Green Goblin and Doctor Otto Octavius are villains that have been successful in multiple movies in the Spider-Man franchise. It would make sense that these villains could do well in a stand-alone movie but getting the same actors to reprise these roles may be more difficult.

The studio can go in a different direction and choose a villain that hasn’t been on the big screen yet. Villains such as Kraven the Hunter, Black Cat and Chameleon would be good picks for villains that deserve an opportunity to be in a movie. The favorite would be Kraven the Hunter, who is set to be the main antagonist in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game. If he is liked in the new game, then maybe that success will trickle over to the silver screen.
