UFC Vegas 81 is a solid fight card with some close fights that provide quality betting opportunities. Let’s dive into the card and break down three of the best bets you can make for the event.
The UFC Vegas 81 main event features a featherweight bout between Sodiq Yusuff and Edson Barboza. Yusuff is currently a -166 favorite while Barboza is a +140 underdog. I like the favorite and I am willing to bet the -5.5 spread.
I think Yusuff will find a lot of success in this fight. On the feet, he pressures and throws powerful strikes. In this matchup, Yusuff’s forward pressure should help limit Barboza’s kick game. If that happens, Yusuff’s boxing and power will allow him to find success. On top of that, he has an edge in grappling and cardio.
For this bet to hit, Yusuff will need to get a finish or win by six points or more on the judges. scorecards. I think that happens. Yusuff has power, submission skills and an edge in cardio. That will allow him to find a finish at any moment regardless of where the fight is taking place. That leads me to bet Yusuff on the spread at UFC Vegas 81.
The UFC Vegas 81 co-main event features a pick ’em between Adrian Yanez and Jonathan Martinez. I’ll be betting on Adrian Yanez to get the victory.
This bout is fairly lined. It is possible to make a case for each fighter. Yanez will have a large advantage in boxing exchanges while Martinez finds success with kicks and clinch work.
Ultimately, I like Yanez. The main reason for this is that he has powerful and accurate hands; I am expecting Yanez to land big shots and hurt Martinez. Plus, Yanez is good at catching kicks which will help him keep the fight in boxing range.
This is a close fight, but Yanez is the fighter that I would rather bet on at a pick ’em price during UFC Vegas 81.
At UFC Vegas 81, Michel Pereira moves up to middleweight to fight Andre Petroski. In his divisional debut, he is lined at -205 while Petroski is a +170 underdog.
I understand why Pereira is the favorite. On the feet, he is a dynamic striker with a lot of power. Petroski’s flaws in striking and cardio will present serious issues.
Still, I am riding with the underdog. This is fairly simple. Pereira is making his divisional debut and Petroski is the best grappler he has ever fought. Those are serious factors that favor a +170 underdog, but I like the strengths that Petroski has.
The advantages that Petroski holds are serious and make him worthy of a bet at UFC Vegas 81.
