BT Sport announced that they have extended their current broadcast deal with the UFC. The television station is the company that broadcasts UFC events to the UK and Ireland. This new multi-year media rights agreement will build upon the current deal with the UFC.
BT Sport has been the home of the UFC in the UK and Ireland since 2013. This extension will ensure that they will continue to be the exclusive provider of the UFC in these regions.
“We were blown away by the awesome response from the fans at our London event earlier this year,” said UFC President Dana White.
“The fans from the UK and Ireland love this sport and they have always been great to us. And now, our roster of talent from these countries is the strongest it’s ever been.”
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with BT Sport to keep promoting these athletes, building stars, and broadcasting the best combat sports events on the planet to these incredible fans.”

This new agreement includes all live events. That covers numbered events and Fight Nights. Along with live events, BT Sport will have access to additional shows like UFC Connected and UFC Countdown. To top it off, the agreement includes a roster of classic UFC fights. In total, this agreement will encompass hundreds of hours of content.
“BT Sport is delighted to continue our successful partnership with UFC,” said Rachel Knight, Sports Right Director, at BT Sport. “We are entering a golden age for the sport in the UK and Ireland, with an incredibly exciting roster of local talent coming through.”
“We look forward to working closely with these brilliant athletes and with UFC to continue to tell the stories and showcase the sport to our viewers in the years to come.”

This partnership will be beneficial for UFC fans in the UK and Ireland. The current landscape of streaming the UFC in this region will remain stable and will only see improvements after this deal.
The presence of the UFC will continue to grow in Europe over the next handful of years. Along with this broadcast extension, the UFC will return to host another UFC event in London on July 23. The event will include big named stars of the UK MMA like Tom Aspinall, Darren Till, Paddy Pimblett, and others.
