UFC Des Moines is a quality fight night event. Thankfully, that means it also has a handful of great betting opportunities that are up for grabs. Here are three of the best bets you can make on the event.
*All lines are taken from DraftKings and are accurate as of 10:00 p.m. on May 3, 2025.*
The UFC Des Moines main event features a bantamweight scrap between Cory Sandhagen and Deivseon Figueiredo. The bookies have Sandhagen lined as a massive -520 favorite while Figueiredo is a +390 underdog. The moneyline is not worth playing. The angle for this matchup is for the fight not to go the distance at +150.
Both fighters have clear paths to landing a finish in this matchup. Sandhagen is a dangerous striker with a bunch of offensive tools. In striking exchanges, he is elite at managing range. This allows him to dominate the fight from a distance. That being said, he has an arsenal of knees, elbows, and spinning attacks that can help him find a finish. Meanwhile, Figueiredo is an aggressive fighter with heavy hands and he aggressively hunts submissions.
The path to a decision largely depends on Sandhagen controlling the fight and cleanly winning rounds. Although, in the late rounds, he will still be live to get the finish. Figueiredo fades to five-round bouts and Sandhagen is capable of landing a finish.
I understand the reasoning behind this fighting going all five rounds, but each fighting finishing skill alongside the cardio dynamic creates a clear opportunity for a finish. At +150, I’ll bet on the UFC Des Moines main event to end inside the distance.
The second bet for UFC Des Moines is for Montel Jackson to cover the -3.5 point spread against Daniel Marcos. That is a much more appealing way to attack this fighting contrast to his -225 moneyline.
Jackson has clear paths to cover this point spread. The length difference between Jackson and Marcos will be remarkable. Plus, Jackson has the skills to take advantage of that advantage. This begins with his range management. In the striking realm, he will be able to dictate the range and stay on the outside. That will allow him to land his quick straight punches.
If Jackson is dominating this fight from range, he has a clear path to out landing Marcos en route to a clear victory. In addition to that, he will have a massive power advantage. He is far more likely to land the knockout. Furthermore, he can land knockdowns to help him win rounds.
At +100, Jackson’s point spread is a sensational bet for UFC Des Moines. It is the most plausible outcome and he has multiple different paths to cover.
The final best bet for UFC Des Moines is Gillian Robertson’s point spread against Marina Rodriguez. That prop bet is lined at -120. That is much more appealing than her -236 moneyline.
The breakdown for this fight is simple. Robertson is a great grappler who is massive for her weight class. Meanwhile, Rodriguez has tragically poor grappling. In all likelihood, Robertson will get this fight to the ground and land a finish. If she cannot, she should cleanly win all three rounds.
It does not take a genius to determine Robertson can have dominant grappling success in this fight. Still, he point spread sits a -120. That is an outstanding bet for UFC Des Moines.
