Tyus Jones Signs One-Year Deal With Orlando Magic

Tyus Jones agrees to a one-year, $7 million deal with the Orlando Magic. This will be Jones’ fifth team in his career and his third team in three years. The former Phoenix Suns guard will be heading to a competitive Magic team in the wide-open Eastern Conference. This was first reported by Shams Charania on Twitter/X.

Tyus Jones averaged 10.2 points and 5.3 assists last year with the Suns. He was also incredibly efficient, shooting a 44/41/89 split. Last season matched his highest three-point percentage in his career. This can be a great acquisition for the Magic, as three-point shooting was one of their major weaknesses last year.

Furthermore, Orlando already tried to address this issue by trading for Desmond Bane a couple of weeks ago. Also, they drafted freshman guard Jase Richardson, who shot the three-ball very well in his one season in college.

Ultimately, Tyus Jones has put himself in a solid situation in Orlando after signing with them in NBA free agency. He offers the Magic reliable depth and the skills to help contribute to a postseason run the franchise has been yearning for in recent years.
