Ty Jerome Has Signed With The Memphis Grizzlies

Ty Jerome has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on a 3-year, $28 million contract. This was first reported by Shams Charania on Twitter/X:

It has been a busy first day of NBA Free Agency for the Memphis Grizzlies as they have signed another player. This time it is Ty Jerome that signs with the Grizzlies. Coming off a career year as a vital role player coming off the bench for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, Ty Jerome heads to the Grizzlies to be one of the main guards off the bench on a contending Memphis team. The Grizzlies have traded away Desmond Bane and are letting Cole Anthony walk after acquiring him in that same trade. While Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jaylin Wells have shown promise, they might be too green to have the big boy role as the backup PG in Memphis. However, they will definitely still get quite a bit of minutes and opportunity alongside Ty Jerome.

The Grizzlies have also signed Santi Aldama, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Cam Spencer to extensions on the first day of NBA free agency. Despite firing Taylor Jenkins right before the playoffs this year, this Grizzlies team still thinks it can contend in the Western Conference. Unfortunately for them, I don’t think Ty Jerome will be enough for them to be taken seriously in the West. I think Cole Anthony was a much better piece for this team and both him and Jerome together could have been a decent pairing. With that being said, I don’t think the Grizzlies are done yet. Let’s see how Ty Jerome does with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2025-2026 season.
