Footage was released from the Tua Tagovailoa Pro Day. Somebody should buy Chris Mortensen’s dinner today for getting his hands on the tape and releasing it on social media. He could have learned how to make a real thread, but hey I won’t be greedy. I’m grateful for the footage. Here’s what we’re looking at.
Now I’m not so great with knowing right from left. However, somebody point out to me which hip he broke because I don’t have a clue. I think he looks great moving around. I don’t notice any stiffness on either side. I tried to look at each hip and I really can’t tell which one has an issue. I go back to the Stefanie Bell report. My man Tua is good to go. No nerve damage, no nothing. His lower half looks shredded too.
In terms of movement skills, all I wanted to see was him not throw up on himself. I thought he looked great. Really smooth feet and showed everything you wanted to see. Quick release isn’t going away. Quick twitch and always on balance. I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again. This is what Russell Wilson looks like throwing the football.
Yes, a lot of players are going to look good in short. The facility (to no fault of their own) also looked small. You didn’t see a ton of deep balls. Don’t even worry about the accuracy for this even though 90 percent of the throws were on target. Tua showed that in college. This was about moving around. Whether it be a bootleg, hitch step, or off platform throw, I thought Tua looked great moving around and that’s all that matters.
At this point, if you’re worried about the hip, that’s just in your own head. Without Googling, tell me which hip he broke? I don’t see anything that tells me that in the footage. At the end of the day, if you need a pro day to decide whether to draft someone or not then you don’t have a clue what you’re doing. All teams needed to see is he isn’t moving around like a 90-year-old grandpa. Looks like the same old Tua I grew to love at Alabama. I have a post coming out later today. Stay tuned for that.
