Tua Tagovailoa is 11 yards ahead of pace to break the single-season passing yards record. That would be an impressive feat considering the number of uneducated people that tried to pretend he sucked. Tua has a chance to break Peyton Manning’s record that’s stood since 2013. The crazy thing is Tua doesn’t seem to care about it at all.
“Sure, that would definitely be cool,” Tagovailoa said, via a transcript from the team. “If we don’t get to where we want to as a team, none of that would mean anything to me. But along the way, if we could get to where we want to get to as a team, and those statistics could follow in helping win games, I’d be very happy.”
Tua learned from Nick Saban. Get rid of that rat poison! Focus on the next game and keep grinding out those W’s. Tua also leads the NFL in yards per attempt and is well above 70% completion rate on the season.
Lastly, it should be noted that the NFL now plays 17 games a year. That’s definitely going to help Tua’s chances to break the record. As long as the trio of Tua, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle stays healthy, the former Alabama quarterback has a chance to make history.
The crazy part is if it happens, the haters will still refuse to acknowledge they were wrong. We can see it coming from a mile away.
