The Tua Tagovailoa contract is going to be a tricky one to get done. Tua will play on the 5th year option for the 2024-25 NFL Season, but what does the future hold after that? The former Alabama product is confident an extension will get done this offseason.
“I believe that will happen,” Tagovailoa said, via Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.
“I’m gonna let, you know, my agents, Chris, Mike [McDaniel], let those guys talk about that and let them move forward accordingly,” Tagovailoa said.
Tagovailoa, 25, ranked first in the NFL in total passing yards and second to only Brock Purdy in yards per attempt. The haters can say whatever they want but I have a hard time believing a guy that led the NFL in passing yards sucks. Just saying…
It’s going to be fascinating to see what this extension comes in at. Maybe the past health issues will be the leverage that gets the number to where it needs to be for Miami to stay competitive.
Before the start of the season, Tua said his primary goal was to stay healthy in order to earn an extension. The former Alabama product was able to play in every single game this season. Something he took great pride in.
“My main goal this year was to play, you know, 17-plus games and I was able to accomplish that goal and just very fortunate that I was able to do that and very happy too,” Tagovailoa said.
