Kicking the season off, the first line of duty for the Vendetta’s upcoming Fantasy Baseball League was to determine the lucrative draft order. It was done through a fun trivia game where the host quizzed contestants on baseball knowledge. The one with the most points earned the first pick.
The game was hosted by myself and featured seven of our amazing workers here at Vendetta. Those who couldn’t join had to have their Draft position shifted down to the bottom. The league consists of 12 members in total.
I wrote the questions, and as I knew the answers, I gave myself the last pick. Following me in descending draft order for picks 11, 10, 9, and 8 included Christopher, Juulian, Jerry, and Vendetta president, Trey.
The questions had to do with baseball knowledge past and present. One example included: What year was there not a World Series due to a players’ strike?
Some of the trivia questions had multiple parts to the answers and contestants were able to earn extra points. An example of this is: Who is the only player to have won MVP in both leagues? Bonus if you can tell me which teams. Each bonus is one point extra.
I tallied the points throughout the game and in the end, Andrew earned the first pick. Jack followed him and then it was Jiarmani, Matt, James, Dom, and Garrett.
We decided as a group that each member will throw in $5. There will be a first, second, and third place winner at the end of the season.
Stay tuned for the official fantasy draft. Updates will follow but the draft will take place during the week following the Super Bowl. Get ready for an exciting season!
