Trent Dilfer has been one of the biggest supporters of Tua Tagovailoa for a long time. Dilfer runs the Elite 11 camps for quarterbacks and has proclaimed Tua as maybe the best quarterback he’s ever seen. I’ll share an old clip below first before I get into the current news story.
Almost a year later, Dilfer basically doubled down on his take:
“If he would have never gotten hurt there would have been no discussion about who the best player in the draft is. He throws the football better than anyone throws the football. He throws better than Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino. Whoever gets him wins the draft because you are getting a Hall of Fame player,” Dilfer said via the Washington Post.
You guys know where I stand on this. I think he’s probably right. At least from the standpoint of coming out of college then it’s Tua by a mile. Prospects like this don’t grow on trees. He is one of the best quarterback prospects to ever enter the NFL Draft. The most efficient passer in college football history. I’ve said it for a long time. I think this is left-handed Russell Wilson. I stand by it. I’ll have a longer piece on Tua coming shortly but there’s no doubt this is the best quarterback prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Trent Dilfer has been working with Tua Tagovailoa throughout the offseason. Dilfer has been so vocal about Tua as a prospect even prior to working with him this spring. I don’t know how you don’t have to seriously consider what he’s saying. Why make this up? Dilfer is very respected for his knowledge and runs a really respected elite 11 camp.
