Tom Brady Reveals He’s Not In Charge Of Personnel With Raiders

When I wrote my 2025 NFL Draft Grades for the Las Vegas Raiders in the AFC West post, I said something along the lines of that it reeked of a Pete Carroll draft. It turns out there are new breadcrumbs that lead you to believe that Carroll is running the show with the Raiders. Tom Brady is denying any and all responsibilities in terms of player personnel with the team.

When Brady was asked about the Shedeur Sanders draft slide, the Raiders part-owner said this…

“There’s . . . I — I — it’s a good question,” Brady said “I wasn’t a part of any evaluation process or to see that.”

Nobody Should Blame The Raiders For Passing On Tom Brady

Again, I said this at the time, but it sure tracks. Think about what just happened with the Raiders. After spending years in New England, where they cycled through middle round backs all the time, there’s just no way he was the one screaming from the clouds to take Ashton Jeanty.

Who is more likely to turn the card in for Jeanty?

Is it Brady who was fine cycling through guys like James White?

OR

Pete Carroll, who also turned in the card for a different Mountain West running back in the first round, once upon a time, Rashaad Penny?

I trust you’re smart enough to figure out by now that Carroll has a ton of say on what’s going on with the Raiders right now.
