Should Quinn Ewers Have Stayed In College?

We knew after last year that Quinn Ewers was done at Texas one way or another, with Arch Manning set to take over. It was a matter of whether he was going to enter the transfer portal again or if he was going to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. The latter ended up being true, but financially, it sure as hell was the wrong call.

It’s been reported that another school offered Ewers $8 million to transfer. Brown also reports Ewers made roughly $6 million in NIL money over the past three years with the Longhorns. His deal with the Dolphins is a four-year, $4.33 million contract that pays him just $133,000 guaranteed.

It remains to be seen who that team was. Maybe it was Miami. Rumors also state it could have been Notre Dame. Either way, there’s no doubt that Ewers would have had suitors had he stayed in college.

This one is sort of a double-edged sword. People are going to complain regardless of what he did. Had he taken the money, Ewers would have been called greedy. Now he’s an idiot for turning it down. You’re never going to win with the haters online.

From what it seems like, Ewers just wanted to be a professional quarterterback, and you can’t fault him for that. Also, it seems like Ewers didn’t grow up poor and comes from a wealthy family so money wasn’t the determining factor.

Honestly… the most fascinating part of this is the landing spot. What if Tua Tagovailoa gets hurt again? Then what…
