When people say the transfer portal is out of control, look no further than Romello Height. This guy is really, really good at grabbing the money and running. The talented edge rusher will now suit up for his FOURTH different college football team after his latest run in the portal. Texas Tech has secured his services for the upcoming 2025 campaign.
Matt Zenitz over at 247 Sports was the first to report the news:
Texas Tech has been busy during portal season. The Red Raiders have landed a ton of guys this year but maybe the most notable being Lee Hunter. This defensive front becomes pretty scary with Hunter and Height leading the charge.
Height leaves Georgia Tech after notching two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception in 2024. He previously played for Auburn and USC to start his collegiate career.
Height, 6-foot-3, 230, was featured in the stock report notes this year. He wrecked the game against Florida State and will likely do the same at his next landing spot. If Height has a Tyree Wilson like rise on NFL Draft boards by this time next year, nobody should be surprised. He’s got the tools to become a dangerous pass rusher. Hopefully, he finally found a landing spot to prove just that while also stating the obvious that if Height fails, his entire college career will look like a guy who just chased around money in the portal. 4 team in one career is a bit odd…
