Roc Taylor 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Is Roc Taylor a possible gem in this wide receiver class? That’s what we’re here to talk about, and you know why you’re here, so let’s just get on with it. Here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on the Memphis wide out!

Taylor, a three star athlete during the 2021 cycle, played all four seasons for the Tigers. The first two years, Taylor was essentially a back up but got sparse playing time. The next two years, he emerged as a real weapon in Memphis’ offense. In 2023, Taylor earned Second-team All-American Athletic Conference. That was followed up by First-team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2024. Taylor has been the WR1 at Memphis, leading the team in receptions and yards each of the last two years.

The statlines in 2023 and 2024 are pretty identical. He posted 1,083 yards in 2023 and 950 this past year. I fully admit, I didn’t catch much of Memphis this year but I did see their win over Florida State, which was hilarious. I should have tuned into the bowl game because Taylor popped off against West Virginia to close out his collegiate career.

I think the Combine tells a lot of the story here. 4.49 speed is cool, but the play speed doesn’t match that. Not to mention, the route running didn’t feel very sharp. Just felt like he was rounding corners. Good effort, but lacks unique high-end football talent. Wasn’t at either the East-West game or Senior Bowl so the rest of the industry doesn’t view him as a mega talent either.

Checks in at 6-foot-2, 213, with long arms. Has some play strength to him. Just not super fluid and couldn’t ever find the end zone to save his life. Just two scores last year with all that production stinks.

I have an undrafted grade on Roc Taylor, but this is a guy I don’t mind bringing in for the preseason to see if his power element projects well enough to where he can make a roster.
