Auburn actually has a bunch of skill position players in this draft class. Rivaldo Fairweather is probably the most polarizing to discuss. No time to waste on this one because it’s project city. Here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on the Auburn tight end!
Fairweather, 22, checks in at 6-foot-4, 252 (those measurements are what he was listed it, not from the Combine). He was a three star prospect coming out of the state of Florida in high school. We’re looking at three years at Florida International and then wrapping up with two campaigns at Auburn.
No Combine invite for Fairweather, but I assume that’s because everyone saw enough at the Shrine Bowl game. He was alright in the practices, but the game portion of things was so bad it lowkey made me puke, so I get why he wasn’t invited to the Combine. His pure hands were egregiously bad at the East-West.
The production isn’t anything to write home about, even in the small school environment. It’s always been a case of tools, and maybe the tools will pop. At FIU, his best year was his final year in 2022, including 28 receptions for 426 yards and six scores. Then, in two years at Auburn, Fairweather posted a total of 69 receptions for 766 yards and eight touchdowns. It’s not anything to outstanding but Payton Thorne being a bum is a pretty good excuse.
Fairweather has some speed. The length is there. The frame is there. Now it’s about doing it. Plays like this are what his high end looks like. It’s getting that to happen all the time is the key.
I have an undrafted grade on Rivaldo Fairweather. Intriguing athletically, but I think we saw plenty to say this is not a real player and not worth investing in outside of a project preseason addition.
