DeAndre Hopkins will now 5th team in his soon to be 13-year NFL career. The man famously referred to a Nuk Hopkins will sign a free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news. The deal is a one-year contract worth $5 million but incentives can take it up to $6 million.
Hopkins, 32, was traded to the Chiefs from Tennessee during the trade deadline last year. In ten games with the Chiefs a year ago, Hopkins notched 437 receiving yards and four touchdowns. On the entire season, Hopkins reeled in 56 receptions for 610 yards and five scores. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he did most of his damage with the Chiefs and really struggled prior to the trade.
Hopkins sort of completes the WR room in Baltimore. Rashod Bateman finally emerged into a real player instead of wasting away during the early stages of his career. Zay Flowers is clearly the number one target. Hopkins now takes over as a bigger body third option. Not to mention the fact that Baltimore still has Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely at tight end too.
The former Clemson product is clearly on the back nine of his career. It remains to be seen how much gas he actually has left in the tank. For that reason, feel free to comment. Do you think Hopkins can actually help the Ravens heading into next season?
