Under Maintenance
We deeply apologize for interrupting your reading but Vendetta is currently undergoing some important maintenance! You may experience some layout shifts, slow loading times and dififculties in navigating.
If you didn’t believe me before, are you willing to hear me out now? The Red Sox are being run by children, and it’s no longer disputable. The Rafael Devers situation (no hindsight bias) all stems from horrible forward-thinking ability, leadership, and culture.
And here’s the worst part…
The Red Sox management didn’t choose accountability. They double down on being cowards, and karma will get them in the end.
It doesn’t matter what angle of the trade you cover. Every angle looks egregious from the Boston side.
A: The Red Sox did not shop Devers. You know… nothing like putting your ego first and taking a worse return because of it!
B: The main piece they got back in the trade, Kyle Harrison, was optioned to AAA.
C: The Red Sox were making horrific team building decisions based on poor planning.
D: Craig Breslow doesn’t understand what team building even is.
E: Alex Cora is currently putting on a clinic about how not to be a leader.
Here’s the bottom line. They told Rafael Devers that he was the DH in Spring Training. It was idiotic then and remains idiotic now. They changed their minds mid-way through the season, and the player had every right to be upset with the way it was handled. Instead of being accountable and working through the issue, they took the path of least resistance and shipped off their best player. All stemming from their own poor leadership and culture.
Both Cora and Breslow should be fired immediately, but realistically will have zero chance to make it beyond the 2027 MLB Season.
Here’s my real question. The next time I warn you, will you listen?
