The University of Washington Pro Day was an exciting one that featured multiple potential first-round picks. One of those players includes Sidney Jones who is expected to be one of the first cornerbacks selected during the 2017 NFL Draft. Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports is reporting that Jones had his worst nightmare come true by tearing his Achilles during the Pro Day.

Jones had a terrific showing at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine. He was the number one rated cornerback on my board prior to the injury. This injury will likely keep Jones out for the entire 2017 season. It’s possible that he now will get drafted in the 5th or 6th round range in what is regarded as a very deep draft class.

Seahawks reporter Stephen Cohen caught an image of Jones being carted off the field at the Washington Pro Day.
