Sometimes you have to embrace the rollercoaster. I love having Will Fuller on my fantasy team. I love the whole experience. The boom and bust weeks are all part of the thrill. Just imagine the year that Fuller stays healthy? If anything, the man is due, right? What if 2020 is the year of Fuller?
I want Fuller on my fantasy team every single year. I was unable to draft him this year only because I opted for Brandin Cooks who went for $3 compared to Fuller at $13. I’d rather have Fuller but that price got too step eventually when Cooks went for nothing. I have to be honest, I don’t have a clue who the number one wide receiver for Houston is. If I had to bet, I’d put my money on Fuller.
If I could guarantee you Fuller is the number one wide receiver on the Texans and plays all 16 games, where would you draft him? The fact of the matter is, Fuller is a top 10 wide receiver all day under that scenario and it’s not debatable.
Here is a basic fact with the Texans this year. DeAndre Hopkins is gone. We can all agree on that. That means 150 targets are up for grabs. That’s how many Hopkins had last year. 7 targets per game as the number one option without Hopkins seems very realistic. Fuller has 16 career games with 7 targets or more which would result in a full season pace.
Over that 16 game pace where he’s averaged 7 targets or more in a game, that would have given Fuller 87 receptions for 1,192 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Hey, only good enough for wide receiver 7 in fantasy even in PPR scoring where Fuller isn’t a super high reception guy.
Did I mention that Deshaun Watson is his quarterback? Over the last three years, Fuller has more top 10 weeks in fantasy than Odell Beckham. I’m just saying…
Here’s the crazy part. Nobody wants him in fantasy drafts. People are scared of the injuries. I get it. Fuller has played 42 games in 4 years which obviously includes more than a handful of games where he played and left halfway through. Still, that’s already baked in to how fantasy players feel about him. This is a top 10 potential that in most league you’re getting for free.
I will happily take the dart throw on Fuller every single day of the week. I wish I had him in my league but surprisingly went for more than I expected. In most instances, he’s free. I will buy all the Fuller stock that exists. Please stay healthy, Will Fuller. I want to see that top 10 fantasy potential.
