In an effort to add veteran depth to their wide receiver room, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed Julio Jones to a one-year deal, per NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.
Seven-time Pro-Bowl WR Julio Jones is signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, per sources. Jones will be reunited with his former Titans’ teammate, AJ Brown, who pushed for Tennessee to trade for him from Atlanta.

It was initially believed that Jones, 34, was going to be added to the 53-man roster, but NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that he will actually be added to the Eagles’ practice squad.
Jones is one of the greatest receivers of his generation, but has recently slowed down in terms of numbers over the past few years.
The Alabama product had 10 prolific seasons with the Atlanta Falcons before getting traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2021. There, in 10 games, he caught just 31 passes for 434 yards and one touchdown.
After things didn’t work out in Nashville, Jones took his talents to Tampa Bay, signing a one-year deal in 2022. He had an even worse year, snagging 24 passes for 299 yards and two scores across 10 games.
The former 1st round pick has been a free agent all season until today, where he joins a receiver room consisting of his former Titans teammate A.J. Brown, as well as Devonta Smith and Olamide Zaccheaus.
If Jones is ring-chasing, this is the team to do it with. Jones made one Super Bowl with the Falcons during the 2016 season and has never sniffed it again.
The Eagles currently sit atop the NFC East at 5-1 in an NFC Conference that is weak outside of a few teams, such as the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions. Hopefully, the seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro can find his footing again and add to an already stacked roster.
