Sergio Agüero is leaving Manchester City but he’s going out on top. Manchester City won the Premier League today after a 5-0 win over Everton. Kun Aguero capped off his Premier League career with two more goals. Agüero is now the king of scoring goals in the PL with one club notching his 184 goal with Man City.
Pep Guardiola was emotional after the Cup lifting ceremony. Replacing the Argentine striker isn’t going to be easy. Pep was in tears and put it as simply as he could.
“We love him so much. He’s a special person for all of us. We can’t replace him,” Guardiola said.
All signs point to Barcelona as the next landing spot for Agüero. The deal will take place after the Champions League Final where Man City is set to take on Chelsea. Agüero is already a living legend in Man City. A piece of hardware in the UCL Final would be a hell of a way to cap off his career with City. Agüero will turn 33 but more than paid his dues with the club after signing with City via Atletico Madrid in 2011.
Sergio Agüero was all class after the win as you figured he would be:
“I’m so happy, I want to say thanks to my teammates, thank you for everything,” Aguero said to SkySports. “I’m a striker, my target is to score goals, so I’m so happy because finally my last game, two goals is fantastic. The first title for me was the most important for the club and for me. I’m so happy because It’s not easy to do 10 years with one club.”
It remains to be seen how Man City will replace Agüero up front. Pep is probably right. They can’t replace him. He’s been invaluable to the club.
